The ‘Outkast’ song that didn’t make Big Boi’s: Sir Lucious Left Foot the Son of Chico Dusty album

“We tried to get everything solidified but Jive said, ‘Naw.” he explained. “Then I was going to take Dre off and make my own version [of Lookin for Ya], but then I thought, ‘No. F–k that. If he can’t be on it, then I’m not using it.” – Big Boi speaking of issues with Jive Records and Def Jam.

It’s clear that Jive Records nor Def Jam knew what they were doing when they didn’t let ‘Looking For Ya‘ with Big Boi, Andre 3000 and Sleepy Brown make the album cut. Surely the record sales for the critically acclaimed ‘Sir Lucious Left Foot the Son of Chico Dusty’ album, which is far indeed better than a lot of albums coming from some of ‘today’s’ favorite rappers. Does Big Boi have a right to be pissed? Heck yeah he does. Think about it. No Outkast album has sold less anything less than platinum. And if 1 million is flop (speaking of the Idlewild soundtrack) then that’s the best-selliing flop in hip hop history.

Check out ‘Lookin 4 Ya’ by Big Boi featuring Andre 3000 and Sleepy Brown.
