United Serfdom- Cutting Foodstamps
Protests have been raging in North Carolina and its not Occupy. NAACP’s “Moral Monday’s” has transformed into a movement where hundreds have been handcuffed in the last two months in a show of solidarity for the countries poor. GOP have referenced the bible in their attacks on food stamps and programs for the poor. This has hit a chord in the black and religious bible belt of the south.
Contemporary GOP argue that the por need private charity, jobs, and self reliance instead of government handouts. This ignores the fact that their are a limited amount of wealthy donors(less than usual because of the recession and nearly stagnant recovery) and dollars as the price of living and food continues to skyrocket. GOP also ignore the fact that the jobs market is still recovering slowly, workers wages are at record lows compared to Ceo pay, and the workforce has to compete with a global workforce that can operate at a much cheaper man hour price.
The GOP wants to continue to give bush era tax cuts, while following the age old American policy of cuts to the nearly bankrupt Medicaid program,raise taxes on middle class families, and restrict access to the state run pre-k program. The NAACP has vowed to carry on the protests indefinitely until change is brought. The protesters know that change won’t be immediate, but they vow to continue to fight until the end.

When Justin Bieber received the “Milestone Award” at the 2013 Billboard Awards, the audience didn’t seem to embrace him very well. In fact, from the moment Ceelo Green read Bieber’s name from the card and during his acceptance speech to the fans on national television, the cheers were over saturated with a massive amount of booing spectators.
The camera men did a great job by only showing footage of the supporting fans during the acceptance speech while Bieber put his foot in his mouth by saying “I’m 19 years old, I think I’m doing a pretty good job….. This is not a gimmick, I’m an artist and I should be taking seriously and all this other bull should not be spoken of”. He really pissed the haters off when he made that statement. This has to be one of the funniest Michael Jackson stories ever told in rap history. Rapper Freddie Gibbs tells the story of MJ’s hometown visit to which fans were thrilled to see the King of Pop. He mentioned Michael stopping by KFC, ordering all of the chicken via drive-through and people being pissed off because there was no more chicken left. The funniest thing he mentioned though, was seeing THUGS crying and KILLAS fainting because they were so happy to see Michael Jackson. LMBO!

Dick Gregory calls Spike Lee a THUG and a PUNK!
Film maker Spike Lee has been in the hot seat lately. Everyone he’s targeted has been mostly silence in their response to Lee. However, activist/actor, Dick Gregory basically said Spike needs to shut the hell up. As we know, Lee’s latest rant came with his displeasure of the infamous N-word usage surround Quentin Tarantino’s ‘Django Unchained’ film, calling the movie disrespectful and if he were to see the phone, it would be a dishonor to his ancestors. Gregory in response, targeting Spike Lee’s X film, a movie about the little of the late Nation of Islam speaker, Malcom X, said that Lee put Malcolm in a zoot suit, but wasn’t that a dishonor to the ancestors? He also said that Lee is acting like he’s WHITE! 80 years old and still got it. By the way, isn’t Mr. Gregory infamous for the term ‘booty call?’

If making the DJango film wasn’t daring enough, how about dropping the N-Bomb in public? That’s what film maker Quentin Tarantino did. And we’re not referring to a person’s name. However, this particular N-word seems to be the nickname that many Caucasians have for blacks as well as what many blacks have for one another. It has grown from a name fitting for a single race of dark pigmented person, to a name that seems be university popular and in some ways HIP to say. This days, though still controversial, a Caucasian person won’t get punched in the mouth for saying it. Or will they.

Just incase you don’t remember either or neither, it’s a must that you find much out about both the movie and the magazine due to some awesome news, perhaps for the fellas. The film had some of the hottest women in Hollywood if you ask me. What I mean is that they all being together in one film made them even hottest. Guess it was hot enough for Josh Robertson over at www.complex.com to give them the number 1 spot in his The Sexiest Sisters in Film feature. And they are Essence Atkins, Robinne Lee, Meagan Good, and Gabrielle Union. One can argue, yet can’t deny that those are some bad women right there, on and off film. Could you imagine in real life if they were blood related siblings? That would be DANGEROUS. Personally, the movie itself was alright back then. Maybe wouldn’t be as funny to me now. However, I could watch it with the volume muted. It’ll be for a worthy cause.

Race and ethnicity has always been a complex matter, especially regarding people of color, or BLACKNESS. There’s still that one percent factor. In other words, if there’s even a “pinch” of black blood in your DNA then you’re black. A huge factor during the African slave trade and still exist in modern society. Positive or negative? If looking at the current American president, Barack Obama, then POSITIVE, or NEGATIVE, via perception (good or bad), pride and prejudice. How about American professional golfer, Tiger Woods, who refers to his ethnic make-up as “Cablinasian” due to the mixed ancestry of his parents? When millions look at him, they see a black man. Well, not until his recent publicized scandal regarding an extra marital affair. Identification is in the number 1′s of problems regarding how people view themselves and others. Could there ever be one answer to define this matter?

It’s been 25 years since the making of the one of the greatest pop albums of all time (Bad) and perhaps 25 years later, it would still be considered as one of the ultimate classic albums. To many, Thriller may have been Michael Jackson’s best selling album; however, it was Bad that gave MJ the King of Pop title. Michael Jackson was not only a musical influence to many; furthermore. he influenced choreography, dance, fashion, etc.
In this short documentary, Bad 25, directed by the great Spike Lee, fans get to witness unseen footage of Michael’s recording process for his 1987 iconic Bad album as well as be surprised to which songs nearly didn’t make the final cut for the album. Guest appearances includes people who Michael worked with as well as admired, from Martin Scorsese, who directed the Bad video, Siedah Garrett (Man In The Mirror, I Just Can’t Stop Loving You), Quincy Jones (executive producer for Off The Wall, Thriller and Bad), Cee-lo Green, Kanye West, Chris Brown, Questlove, Sheryl Crow (actress and former background vocalist for Michael Jackson), Greg Phillinganes (Michael’s keyboardist), Tatiana Thumbtzen and a list of others.

Game’s upcoming Jesus Piece album may be one of the greatest hip hop albums of 2012. He compares Jesus Piece to the iconic Dr. Dre’s ‘The Chronic’ album. Is that fair game? Maybe so, maybe not; however, Game got a hell of a lot of collaborations on the album, minus Game’s good friend, Snoop Dogg aka Snoop Lion. In my opinion, that’s the only collaboration missing, because when those two blue and red rappers (Crip & Blood) rappers get together, they MURDER tracks. Yet certain collaborations will indeed stand out, such as “HVN4AGNGSTA,” to which Game called on No Limit Forever Record’s founder and CEO, Master P. to do his infamous Uhhhhh crooning as well as drop a verse on the joint. But get this, the original track is entitled ‘Heaven For a Gangster’, which surfaced on P’s 1997 album entitled Tru Da 2 Game.
“The thing about Game is he’s a hard worker and redoing ‘Heaven for a Gangster’ is magical,” explained P to AllHipHop.com. “He’s from the streets and rededicated his life and I definitely love working with him.”
