Mannie Fresh speaks about not being involved in new Big Tymers Album

My question is, Why in the hell would Cash Money put out a Big Tymers album without Mannie Fresh? When I think of Big Tymers, I think of a Mannie Fresh track, a basic but catchy Mannie Fresh verse, a typical Baby verse and a dope Lil Wayne feature. Overall, a nice club banger is what I am expecting to hear from them. To be honest, I think Weezy, Drake and Baby together on a album would be huge for Cash Money and would be much more anticipated than trying to re-do something that has already been done. Check out what Mannie Fresh had to say about it….

I remember spring break 1991, me and my cousin Dee was in Daytona Beach, FL. reppin the ATL real hard. At the time we both weighed about 120lbs and we rock’d baseball gear, different teams tho. We walked the strip holla’n at gulz, drinkin, smoking, taking pics and the whole nine. All we heard bumpin throughout the entire weekend was Kris Kross. People don’t remember how big that group was back in the early 90′s. One thing I hate about the hip hop culture and the urban community is, we don’t pay homage to our artist from back in the day. As a whole, we only embrace what’s hot at the moment. Once the buzz goes down and the next trend and big star arrives, we leave the old stuff behind and seldom look back. R.I.P. Chris Kelly aka Mac Daddy! Live In Paradise my friend. S/O to Chris Smith aka Daddy Mac, Jermaine Dupri, and the whole So So Def team. Also S/O to Facebook friend LaSonya W. for the 411! Below is Kris Kross last big performance on stage together at the So So Def All Star 20th Year Anniversary Concert

Mack Maine, T.I., Lil Wayne’s Family Blast TMZ For False Reporting

Super Bowl party sponsored by Lacoste and Mercedes-Benz

By Sowmya Krishnamurthy

Celebrities have been speaking out and blasting TMZ for its reporting about Lil Wayne. Yesterday, the breaking news outlet shocked the entertainment world by stating that Wayne was in critical condition at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. They went so far as to claim that Wayne was in an induced coma and his last death rites were being read as doctors awaited for his mother to arrive and make final decisions on what to do with her son (which they later deleted from the article).

Members of Wayne’s camp, like Birdman and Mack Maine, shot down TMZ‘s claims and told fans that the rapper was “recovering” and Weezy himself later confirmed on Twitter that he was doing just fine.

Birdman tweeted, “My son is in good spirit..feelin much betta…be home soon,” but YMCMB prez Mack Maine had a few choice words for TMZ, criticizing the site for what he deemed incorrect reporting. “We will be releasing an official statement shortly but dont believe the nonsense about comas and tubes to breathe…that’s false!!” and “#F—TMZ.”

Wayne’s daughter Reginae took to Instagram to share her thoughts, writing, “Don’t listen to The Lies, I swear there all lies TMZ you a fool 18h” while her mother, Wayne’s ex-wife Toya Carter, added, “It would be a much better world if people would stop and think before they spread RUMORS.”

T.I. also threw in, “Just holla’d @my Lil bruh Tunechi… he skraight! TMZ some f— n—-z for reporting that hoe-ass-sh–!!! That man daughter is like mines. That sh– surely got his mama hurtin, his kids hurtin, he got true to da game patnas like me Othas who ready to RIDE bout all da f— sh–. … #nowthankitsagamen—-!!!”

Gucci Mane Drops Waka Flocka From 1017 Brick Squad On Twitter

2010 VH1 Hip Hop Honors - Show

So, we guess there’s some trouble in paradise? Because these days you can always count on Twitter to let you know. Gucci Mane has apparently decided to drop Waka Flocka Flame from his Atlanta-based label and he let fans know via Twitter tonight, writing, “Waka flacka flames officially dropped off brick squad 1017. Big Guwop say give me a offer fa this disloyal lil n—.”

(Note: Gucci Mane referring to himself as Guwop). Waka couldn’t seem to help himself, when he responded, “Somebody tell Gucci Mane 2 SUCK A D—,” because he later deleted the message and retweeted a fan to explain that he wouldn’t be hashing their issues out on Twitter (“@WakaFlockaBSM Can’t tweet beef #HucciKnowHowIrOck” and “Can’t tweet jones about a n—- I’m a let a lame be lame”)

But he kinda seemed to have a sense of humor about it too, retweeting a fan who wrote this: “@Money_Ova_Men: So these n—-s @WakaFlockaBSM and @Gucci1017 having a “I HATE YOU BITCH” moment… Lol! LoL” and then he decided to throw in a lil jab anyway, with the inevitable joke. ”@elbrothabear shoulda known something was up with gucci when he got that ice cream cone on his face.”

No confirmation on whether this is permanent or just an outburst, because Waka still seemed confident enough to tweet, “We BSM.”

We’re sure there are more details to come. Things were all good just a few weeks ago when Waka was looking forward to Gucci’s upcoming role in Spring Breakers.

What does a Suge Knight and Snoop Lion reconciliation mean?

Snoop-and-Suge-Knight-600x600 - CopyWell surely you’ve all heard by now the BREAKING NEWS regarding the reconciliation of one time partners, Suge Knight and Snoop Lion aka/formerly known as Snoop D-O-double G, who started his music career via Knight and former partner Dr. Dre’s then label, Death Row Records imprint. Clearly it’s the most surprising reconciliation ever to date in music and hip hop history, topping the once heavy beef that was squashed by the two Kings of New York, Nas and Jay Z, as the Jigga Man stunned the crowd on the set of his “I Declare War” concert(1995) in East Rutherford , NJ when saying these words, “Let’s Go Esco”, to which the Queensbridge eMCee joined him on stage. Not many music moguls can celebrate a reunion or reconciliation as egos are way too heavy, especially in hip hop. In the words of Sleepy Brown “Cuz everybody wants to be a tough guy”. Another reason is that either one of both artists, crews, etc. are now deceased, some in tragic situations before there could ever be an official reunion. And another serious issue is MONEY. Many artists are enslaved to their labels and any association or reunion with a former comrade, according the label, ruins the possibility to make more money. So for that matter, those artists tends to ride for their label, bearing the pain of not being able to reconnect with their old homies again.

As for the case with Suge and Snoop, who’s long period infamous beef didn’t end with neither of them getting killed, THANK GOD; what happens next? What does their reunion mean to all whom stood by either or both throughout the last 16/17 years of the two being at odds? What are people saying about Suge? What are they saying about Snoop? For many, Suge is one of the most feared men on the face of the earth, while Snoop on the other hand, is the world’s favorite UNCLE, can do whatever he wants, including CHANGING HIS NAME (see Snoop Lion) and no one will trip. What does this mean for Snoop’s relationship with is mentor Dr. Dre and Tha Dogg Pound? What does this mean for the Bloods & Crips street gang? Snoop and Suge

Regardless whether it has any meaning or not, PEACE is BETTER THAN WAR. Hey, they may never become the best of friends again. However, they both can exhale. To give meaning to their reconciliation, it’s their business and they don’t have to answer to anyone for that matter. Was it a none gangster move for them to PEACE UP? Naw, what it did was SOLIDIFY what it means to be gangster. And at the end of the day, BEEFING DOES NOTHING BUT WASTE TIME!. So what happens next between the two? Guessing we’ll have to wait and see. Yet in the meantime, SALUTE to Suge Knight and Snoop Lion for being “G” about it.

Freddie Gibbs Disses Young Jeezy

Freddie Gibbs signed with Young Jeezy’s CTE label a while back and things didn’t work out well for him. According to Freddie Gibbs, he and Jeezy disagreed with how his career was being handled. Gibbs felt that Young Jeezy was more concerned about pushing his own brand instead of focusing on Freddie Gibbs. Gibbs also disagreed with T.I.’s opinion that gangster rap is dead. This was a good interview, s/o to Freddie Gibbs, Chicago, and 107.5 WGCI.

“I ain’t 2Pac, I’m the new Pac. Holla at cha boy.” – Lil Wayne

If you thought comparing rough sex to the late Emmett Till was enough, what about making self comparisons to 2Pac? Well, how about calling oneself 2Pac? Being obviously upset about being banned from all NBA Events by NBA team, the Miami Heat, YMCMB rapper Lil Wayne went on a tantrum to which he dissed the Heats and its fellow players Lebron James, Chris Bosh, and Dwyane Wade, he then went on to call himself the new 2Pac. And it seem as if to a great surprise, he didn’t receive any boos from the crowd. Remember Pac’s infamous record Hit’em Up, to which he introduction had this to say to the late Notorious B.I.G.: “That’s why I F***’d Your B@#$% you fat MuthaF****?” Well, Lil Wayne, seeming to be referencing Pac’s Biggie diss, claims to have sex’d Chris Bosh (Miami Heat)‘s wife. Has he gone too far? It’ll be interesting to see what’ll happen next.

——————————————————————————————————————————
Emmett Till was enough, who in 1955 was visiting family in Mississippi, was murdered by a mob of angry white men for allegedly whistling at a white woman. He was only 14. 2Pac in 1996, died several days following a Mike Tyson fight in Las Vegas, Nevada due to complications from multiple gun shot wounds. He was only 25.

J. Cole – Truly Yours EP

J. Cole – Truly Yours EP

yours-e1360658864864

The Roc Nation/ North Carolina representer dropped a 5 song EP (click picture above) along with this letter to his fans this morning:

It’s time.

I appreciate you giving me the time I needed to grow, experiment, and find the direction for my 2nd album.. And I have.
Along the way I’ve recorded at least 4 albums worth of material, lots of it being unfinished demo versions waiting to be polished up, some of them are great songs and important stories that just won’t make the album (either they don’t fit Sonically, don’t fit Theme, or there’s just not enough space) .

Tonight, I want to give you a few of these songs because you deserve them. It’s hard as fuck for me to keep all this music from you for so long, so I know it’s been hard for you to wait. Thank you for your patience. Vibe out to these songs in their raw form, no polish.. just a lot of my soul..

The wait is over.

Truly Yours,

Born Sinner

PS- 1st single coming this week. The album is hands down my best work yet. Can’t wait to share.

Frank Ocean recruits Big Boi for Pink Matter remix with Andre 3000 (audio)

pink-matter

Woke up this morning to an Outkast record. Well, sort of. It was the remix to Frank Ocean’s Pink Matter joint, which originally features 1/2 of Outkast, Andre 3000. However, this remix brings out the other half, Big Boi aka Daddy Fat Sacks, as many of us Atliens know him from his Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik days. Like many Outkast fans, I was ampt about the joint. Is it befitting to call this a hint to an Outkast reunion? Or was this anxiety based on Big Boi’s behalf? How does 3000 feel about this? Either way, it’s good to hear both Big and Dre on a track together. This definitely gets the barber shop talking on again.

Check out Frnak Ocean’s Pink Matter remix ft. Big Boi & Andre 3000 (Outkast).

Ma$e is now a free agent. Will he join Big Sean at Kanye’s G.O.O.D. Music label?

“I’ve been in that contract for 16 years,” he explained. “Yeah, the other day he let me out of it, so big shout-outs to Diddy. I guess he woke up feeling good and he wanted to do something good.” – Ma$e speaking about Sean P. Diddy Combs

Diddy Combs as finally released the Harlem rapper from his contract with the label after 16 long years.

Well that was good, and it makes you wonder why Diddy kept the guy in the contract for so long? I mean he was his (Diddy) prized package since the unfortunate death of the late great Notorious B.I.G. So yeah, go figure! But anyway, both can move on now. But now that Ma$e is free, will he sign with Kanye? He did with Ye on the G.O.O.D. Music ‘s Cruel Summer compilation project. He does admire Yeezy’s work ethic as well as the creative space he gives his artists. Perhaps in today’s era of hip hop and Ma$e’s style, G.O.O.D. Music may well be the place for the Harlem emCee.

Check out this RapFix interview w/ Ma$e being interviewed by MTV’s own Sway Calloway.

This report is in fact very late but also pretty informational. He was apparently shot only four times but four deadly times. Andre 3000 says ‘I don’t like rapping fast’ (audio)

Andre 3000 says ‘I don’t like rapping fast’ (audio)

Yes Andre 3000 said that. Did you hear ‘Sorry’ from the upcoming Trouble Man album by T.I.? It’s a must here and if you ask me, one of the best 3 Stacks features of 2012. He got down on all of them, outshining all the artists who he collaborated alongside of. And check out what T.I. had to say about working with Stacks.

“He s–t on me on my own record”.

Funny Tip said that because in all honestly, his (T.I.) verse is doper than other Stacks collaborations in 2012. Stacks didn’t have time to do a video with Rick Ross for their Sixteen collaboration. However, it would be great if he and T.I. end the year with one. It’s needed as it is befitting for Atlanta. Go Falcons!

50 Cent and Maroon 5′s, Adam Levine performs ‘My Life’ on The Voice (video)

50 Cent and Maroon 5′s, Adam Levine performs ‘My Life’ on The Voice (video)

This may be one of 50 Cent’s biggest hits to date. He knows the approach for making classic albums and singles. Yet getting the Maroon 5′s front man, Adan Levine to join him on a track is indeed surprising. 50 and Levine perform their ‘My Life’ single on NBC’s The Voice last night. Shady Records CEO, Eminem who is indeed a friend to 50, also appears on the track, however didn’t make The Voice appearance. However, the crowd wasn’t disappointed, as there were Screams galore. Can we say a GRAMMY nod?

The LOX’s Styles P Pop Out (video)

The LOX’s Styles P Pop Out (video)

The LOX is the truth man. Styles P is a BEAST! But you know, most BEASTS don’t sell in today’s industry. However, with his new joint, ‘Pop Out’, it still proves that the homie is one of the dopest in this hip hop game to do it.

Check out the video for Styles P ‘Pop Out’ below.

Game brings in the No Limit boss Master P to remake the classic Heaven for a Gangsta (audio)

Game brings in the No Limit boss Master P to remake the classic Heaven for a Gangsta (audio)

Game’s upcoming Jesus Piece album may be one of the greatest hip hop albums of 2012. He compares Jesus Piece to the iconic Dr. Dre’s ‘The Chronic’ album. Is that fair game? Maybe so, maybe not; however, Game got a hell of a lot of collaborations on the album, minus Game’s good friend, Snoop Dogg aka Snoop Lion. In my opinion, that’s the only collaboration missing, because when those two blue and red rappers (Crip & Blood) rappers get together, they MURDER tracks. Yet certain collaborations will indeed stand out, such as “HVN4AGNGSTA,” to which Game called on No Limit Forever Record’s founder and CEO, Master P. to do his infamous Uhhhhh crooning as well as drop a verse on the joint. But get this, the original track is entitled ‘Heaven For a Gangster’, which surfaced on P’s 1997 album entitled Tru Da 2 Game.

“The thing about Game is he’s a hard worker and redoing ‘Heaven for a Gangster’ is magical,” explained P to AllHipHop.com. “He’s from the streets and rededicated his life and I definitely love working with him.”

Below, check out both versions of Heaven for a Gangster (HVN4AGANGSTA).

50 Cent imitates Lil Wayne’s deposition video when speaking about MMG Gunplay

50 Cent imitates Lil Wayne’s deposition video when speaking about MMG Gunplay

The funniest video ever done by a hip hop artist was the deposition of Lil Wayne when going through the lawsuit matter against QD3 . Wayne lost the counter-suit, however one could never forget the footage of Lil Wayne seeming to threaten Quincy Jones III’s lawyer, Peter Ross when asked a certain question, to which Wayne’s response was “I was talking to myself”, amongst other things. G-Unit honcho, 50 Cent must had thought it was hilarious too, as he imitated Wayne when speaking about Maybach Music (Rick Ross) rapper, Gunplay. During the interview with Booska-P, a french rap website, 50 talked growth as an artist/entrepreneur, Mobb Deep’s fans turning against them, ending beef with Fat Joe (Terror Squad), etc.

Check out 50 Cent’s interview below.

Saigon wants to punch Rick Ross and 2 Chainz

sorry but this video was removed by owner.
Saigon wants to punch rappers like Rick Ross and 2 Chainz for releasing detrimental music and corrupting the youth which are their biggest listeners. I searched Saigon on YouTube and found a song he recorded with Styles P, an artist that also release the same type of music from an east coast point of view. Styles P was featured on Rick Ross’s break through hit “B.M.F.” which isn’t the type of music you would want your children to listen to either. Together they recorded a song promoting drugs, violence, and money . In fact, the song below “Not Like Them” by Saigon featuring Styles P has parental advisory content also. What do you think about Saigon’s comments?

Will there ever be a Wu-Tang Reunion?

Will there ever be a Wu-Tang Reunion?

Even since before the demise of one of the more outspoken Clan’s members (not to be mistakened for the Ku Klux Klan, an organization againt anything black, Jewish, or homosexual), O.D.B. (Ol Dirty Bastard) aka Dirt McGirt, the Staten Island, New York rap group better known as the Wu-Tang Clan hasseem to gone up in smoke. Surely not forgotten, as fans for over the years have been anticipating a Wu reunion. Though there has been much talk about it from various clan members, nothing seems to have sufficed. Everyone wants it. But does the Wu want it?

Check out Raekwon’s interview below, speaking on his hopes and conditions for a Wu-Tang Clan reunion.

Never released OUTKAST throwback ‘Phobia’ (music)

Never released OUTKAST throwback ‘Phobia’ (music)

Now let me take you back to 1993, 1994 as I made my way to East Point Atlanta by way Tha S.W.A.T.S. It was a melancholy moment, thinking to myself, What the ….. is in East Point, as I wanted to be a part of the magnet program at North Atlanta High School. But then I turned on the radio, and the first song I heard was ‘Ain’t No Thang’. Catchy line, ‘It’s just a pimps (players), Mack daddies (East Point)’ . Let’s just say I had a change of heart at the moment. Thanks V-103 for introducing me to the one and only Outkast (Big Boi & Dre). Tri Cities High School it was. C/O 1998 pimp. First album, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik was the joint. Eighteen years late, still an East Point Greatest Hit, no disrespect to Outkast’s Dungeon Family member, Cool Breeze, who released an album under the same phrase. And that too was CLASSIC. But there was a joint named ‘Phobia’ which never made the Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik album. Don’t know why, but it’s indeed a dope song. So for all of you Outkast heads out there, old and new, I’m preparing to you ‘Phobia’ by Outkast, featuring another D.F. member, Big Rube.

Remember the picture from Lil Kim’s HARDCORE album? Happy sweet 16!(photo)

It’s been 16 years later and the photo with her legs spread showing that GAP still gets to me. Sprinkle me with some holy water because ….. dayum! That is the Queen Bee me and my homeboyz remember and we’re still fiending over. Can’t believe it’s been 16 years since the release of one hellified CLASSIC album. Hardcore was definitely HARDCORE. I had this poster on the wall of my bedroom. Of course momma made me take it down and started praying to Jesus on my behalf. LOL! But she couldn’t stop the memory. Anyway, congratulations Ms. Kim Jones, HAPPY 16th Anniversary and thanks for making one of the dopest hip hop albums ever coming from a woman.

President Barack Obama Re-elected – 2012

President Barack Obama Re-elected – 2012

Congratulations to President Barack Obama!!!

Democrats, we did it again. Four years wasn’t enough time for President Barack Obama to finish his mission. George Bush left the United States with so much turmoil, debt, and distress that our country was willing to break the race barrier and give the most qualified candidate the opportunity to repair our economy.

Today is the beginning of a new America! Our future is looking much brighter now. Affordable healthcare, lower taxes, more jobs, and a better education system will boost our economy.

Do you remember this song by Young Jeezy “My President” featuring Nas

Lil Wayne was SCARED to leave Cash Money says Juvenile

No one really knows the real reason why once time Hot Boyz leader and Cash Money Records artist, Juvenile left the label accept Juve, Lil Wayne, Birdman and Slim. And no one really knows the real reason why Lil Wayne is still on the label. However, in an interview with Complex Magazine, Mister 400 Degreez gave his take on why Wayne is still on Cash Money after all these years.

“When Wayne was trying to leave Cash Money [in the mid 2000s], same thing. He was trying to find out how did I leave, what did I do, he wanted to see my paperwork. I was like you can see it, but you’re gonna have to pay me for it now because now I know you ain’t with me. You’re own your own because I’m definitely on my own. If you want the paperwork and help from my end, I need to be compensated for it. [He never paid for it]. … I thought he was scared [that's why he stayed]. That’s how I took it. I was like, ‘You don’t have to be scared.’ I’m really from the projects. No disrespect to them, but I’m 10 times more street than they are. They would never go to some of the places I’d go, they’d never turn some of the corners I turned because they’re not like that. It’s two different ballgames.” (Complex)
