Lakers responded since firing of Mike Brown and hires Mike D’Antoni

The Lakers look to turn things around with their new look roster, after a 1-4 start and the firing of Mike Brown on November 9, 2012. The Laker’s looked lost on offense and defense, while trying to adjust to the Princeton offense and new team mates Dwight Howard, Antawn Jamison, and the now injured Steve Nash. The Lakers responded with a dominating 101-77 victory over their California state rivals the Golden State Warriors. Kobe scored a team high 27 points to continue his trend of domination on the basketball court, despite his team’s 1-4 record and playing on a bruised foot. Paul Gasol added a double double with 14 points and 16 rebounds. Jordan Hill also added 14 points off the bench. The Lakers also gained momentum with a victory over the Sacramento Kings 103-90 lead by Dwight Howard’s 23 points and 18 rebounds. The Lakers are moving forward with newly hired coach Mike D’Antoni and hoping that his system will be effective enough to get the team back to playing LA Lakers basketball.

Dwight Howard declares his love to Ellen Degeneres.

I’ve been loving you since 2004, Finding Nemo. – Dwight Howard

NBA sensation, Dwight Howard has declared his love for talk show host/comedienne, Ellen Degeneres on her hit self-titled talk show(The Ellen Degeneres Show). The talk host show/comedienne/actress played the character, Dory in the computer-animated comedy-drama film written and directed by Andrew Stanton. Actually, the film was released in 2003, not 2004 as the newly Los Angeles Lakers point forward mentioned on the show. Perhaps it was quite infatuated by Degeneres and led to his error. It happens.

Orlando Magic vs. Miami Heat – Recap – March 03, 2011 – ESPN

MIAMI — Another big lead, another big collapse.

It’s becoming a trend for the Miami Heat — and one the Orlando Magic were more than thrilled to exploit Thursday night.

Heat Is Off

Heat

At the end of close games, the Heat do not spread the wealth. In the last five minutes of regulation or overtime and with the score within five points, the Heat assist on 42.8 percent of their made field goals, far below their season average of 53.1.

Down by 24 points in the third quarter, the Magic went on an unbelievable 40-9 run over the next 15 minutes and stunned the Heat 99-96, the second-largest comeback in Orlando franchise history and matching the second-biggest in the NBA this season.

Jason Richardson scored 24 points for Orlando, 11 of them to kick start the epic burst that turned a 73-49 deficit into an 89-82 lead.

“Well, that defies explanation,” Magic coach Stan Van Gundy said.

There’s only been six instances this season of a team taking a 22-point lead or more and losing. The Heat have been victimized that way twice, both times at home, the first against the Utah Jazz in the season’s earliest stages.

This one seemed to cut much deeper.

“We’ve blown a lot of games where we were in full control,” Heat forward Chris Bosh said. “And we have to do something.”
