2013 NFL Draft Spotlight – Cornelius Washington
The 2013 NFL Draft is almost here and today’s spotlight is Cornelius Washington. A three -year starter in the SEC, Mr. Washington is still more of an athlete than refined pass rusher off the edge. His combination of raw strength and quickness will make him an attractive prospect to 3-4 and 4-3 teams with his experience playing both defensive end and linebacker. Despite a few maturity questions , he is known as a vocal leader on the field.

2013 NFL Draft Spotlight – Jarvis Jones
The 2013 NFL Draft is almost here and today’s Spotlight is Jarvis Jones. The way I see it, Man You Can’t Go Home Again, Mr. Jarvis Jones, a Columbus, Ga., native who originally signed with Southern Cal, would certainly beg to differ. Mr. Jones earned playing time immediately with the USC Trojans, seeing time primarily on special teams and as a backup strong- side linebacker in their 4-3 alignment. He suffered a sprained neck in the eighth game of the season= Oregon, however , and missed the rest of the year. Team doctors refused to clear him for participation the following spring and after seeking other opinions, Mr. Jones elected to transfer back to Georgia. He sat out the 2010 campaign per NCAA transfer guidelines before absolutely exploding onto the SEC scene the following season. Primarily asked to rush the passes as an outside linebacker in Georgia’s 3-4 alignment , Mr. Jones led the SEC in sacks = 13. 5 and tackles for loss 19.5 while posting 70 tackles. He earned conference first- team all- conference honors and was voted a finalist for the Butkus Award. Having earned first- team All- SEC honors in each of his two eligible seasons at Georgia, Mr. Jones has proven himself to be a playmaker against both the pass and run. He led the country in three critical statistics = sacks= 14.5 , tackles for loss= 24.5 and forced fumbles= seven despite missing two games last season. As dynamic as he is, the redshirt junior’s medical grade will ultimately determine his draft status. He was diagnosed with a mild case of spinal stenosis in 2009 and some NFL doctors have be unwilling to clear Mr. Jones, However He is by far the best outside linebacker in 2013 NFL Draft, can we say Lawrence Taylor !

19 Year Old Georgia Man Arrested For Raping Female Pitbulls
This is a horrible story! Police arrested 19-year old Bernard Archer and charged him with two counts of bestiality for having sex with two female pit-bull dogs. Archer was hired to clean out the kennels and neighbors noticed him on his knees having doggy style sex with the animals. The neighbors recorded the footage and called the police. I wonder was the brother on ecstasy or Viagra, and did he use a condom or run up in them raw-dog?

Slot Machines – Legalize or Not
Slot machine gambling in the state of Georgia is illegal, but it still doesn’t stop businesses from raking in thousands of dollars every day. I must admit a few of those dollars are coming from my pockets. However, sometimes I walk away with a couple of hundreds myself which motivates me to return for more winnings on a later date. As a responsible adult, I know when to call it quits. However, some folks don’t stop until they hit the jack pot or get there pot jacked. Should the ban in Georgia be lifted? What’s your opinion?

Georgia Spared Convicted Killer Samuel David Crowe
” The parole board in the state of Georgia spared a convicted killer from execution hours before he was due to die by lethal injection on Thursday and commuted his sentence to life in prison. The Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles made its decision less than three hours before Samuel David Crowe, 47, was to be executed, according to a spokeswoman for the state’s prisons. “After careful and exhaustive consideration of the requests, the board voted to grant clemency. The board voted to commute the sentence to life without parole,” the parole board said. Crowe’s death would have marked the third execution since the U.S. Supreme Court lifted an unofficial moratorium on the death penalty last month. For full story go to WorldStarHiphop

T.I. feat. Pharrell – What’s Yo Name
I usually feature a video for our 12 o’clock classic, but unfortunately I couldn’t find one for this song. Real talk, “What’s Yo Name”, from “Im Serious” album is my favorite T.I. song. I love the beat, the topic, and the lyrics! T.I.’s rhyme scheme for this song was different too. His delivery was all the way on point. Overall, T.I. is a great MC and hopefully he can get back in the position to make more great music.

Dekalb County
Body found by little children..
DeKalb County police spokesman Jason Gagnon said the discovery was made Wednesday afternoon in the 4600 block of Wildginger Run in Lithonia.
Channel 2 Action News reporter Erica Byfield spoke with the mother of one of the children.
“I was in the house on the couch and my daughter and niece ran in and told me there is a man in the woods,” said the woman who only wanted to be identified as Nicole.
“I asked them, ‘How do you know he’s dead?’ They said, ‘He’s just laying there.’” I told them to stop playing and my daughter said, ‘Mommy, I’m not playing.’” She was really hysterical, the woman said.
When she ran outside to the wooded area to investigate for herself, she couldn’t believe it.
“I know I saw one gunshot to the chest and I know that he was beaten,” the woman said.
Police confirmed that the victim suffered a gunshot wound but won’t provide further details.
The woman said her house is near the end of a dead street.

Georgia Unemployment Rate Grows…
ATLANTA — New numbers out showed that Georgia’s unemployment rate grew to 10.2 percent in December. The state is out of money to pay out unemployment claims and is accruing debt to the federal government of more than $600 million.
“We are starting to see a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel,” said Dept. of Labor Commissioner Mark Butler.
Butler told Channel 2 Action News reporter Lori Geary that he hopes the state’s new unemployment rate has topped out.
In December, the rate increased again to 10.2 percent – up from 10 percent in November.
State lawmakers learned the state is out of money when it comes to paying out unemployment benefits and is borrowing money from the federal government for the first time.
The total tally so far is $600 million and is likely to top $800 million by the end of the year when the first interest payment is due.
The governor’s budget recommends the money should come from the state’s labor department. Butler said that would mean laying off more than 100 frontline workers who help the unemployed.
“This money is tied to the people who work in our offices, so we’re trying to work with the Governor’s Office to come up with a better plan,” said Butler.
“It is unfortunate we had to borrow the money in the first place, but we’re not alone,” said Gov. Nathan Deal.
Deal said he’s hopeful Congress will grant the states some relief on the interest payments, and the only way to Deal with the $600 million debt is to get Georgians back to work.
“We cannot tax our way out of it, we’ve got to grow our way out of it. That’s why it’s so important to create more job opportunities,” said Deal.
If the state doesn’t find a way to pay back the money, the federal government will more than likely raise taxes on employers. Butler said it is time to update Georgia’s unemployment tax code.
Deal said his transition team is looking into downsizing government by eliminating any duplication of services it can find.
In July, Gov. Sonny Perdue ordered state agencies to cut spending by four percent. Those cuts are saving about $25 million a month.
Message From Trendsetter: though the unemployment rate is rapidly growing… the jobs that ii receive ii will continue to post on the siite! Its all about helping!

Evander Holyfield fight this weekend
Can a 48 year old man become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world? I don’t think so, you probably don’t think so either. Evander Holyfield is trying to prove us wrong by continuing his mission to become that guy. He has a fight this weekend and hopefully he can use Sherman “Tank” Williams as a human punching bag. Williams is 38 years old himself, which means this maybe a good pick for Evander. Evander says that he’s still in shape and he is ready for the big fight. Check out the interview he did this morning with Fox TV
