2013 NFL Draft Spotlight – Andre Ellington
The 2013 NFL Draft is almost here and today’s Spotlight is Andre Ellington. Mr. Ellington helped steady his draft stock with his second 1, 000 yard rushing season in 2012 and staying healthy for a full season for the first time in his Clemson career. A big play threat with 4.4 speed, Mr. Ellington showed the ability to play his best under the brightest lights. While Mr. Ellington lacks decisiveness at times and isn’t going to move many piles at his size , he also has the ability to weave through traffic and turn on the jets in the open field.

2013 NFL Draft Spotlight – Eddie Lacy

The 2013 NFL Draft is almost here and today’s spotlight is Eddie Lacy. The way I see it, Mr. Eddie Lacy has shown natural running skills to go along with his big time frame to prove he’s hardly just a product of Alabama’s terrific offensive line. Mr. Lacy redshirted in 2009 but quickly flashed star potential once given an opportunity . In his first collegiate game= San Jose State, Mr. Lacy rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries , and he ended the year in similar fashion against a talent Michigan State squad in the Capital One Bowl by rushing for 86 yards , including touchdown scampers of 62 and 12 yards. He emerged as the top backup behind Mr. Trent Richardson in 2011, finishing second on the team with 674 yards = averaging 7.1 per attempt = and seven touchdowns. He also caught 11 passes for 139 yards. With Mr. Richardson the focal point of the Cleveland Browns’s offensive , Mr. Lacy enjoyed a spectacular breakout junior season. Although overshadowed at times by true freshman Mr. T.J. Yeldon, Mr. Lacy was strong down the stretch, with a carrer – high 181 yards rushing yards aginst Georgia in the SEC Championship Game followed by 140 rushing yards in the BCS title game, earning Offensive Player of the Game honors.

Yes it is true. Remember when Badu walked through the Dallas, TX streets butt naked for her ‘Window Seat‘ video? Well she’s back with round 2 of the ‘birthday suit show down’. But this time, it’s her sister, Nayrok Badu bearing it all in their newly ‘The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face’ video. The song itself is a remake of a 1957 folk song written by British political singer/songwriter Ewan MacColl for Peggy Seeger, who was later to become his wife. It’s remake is from the April 2012 of the Oklahoma psychedelic alternative rock band ‘The Flaming Lips’ Record Store Day collaborative double vinyl called ‘The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends’, and features Erykah Badu on the vocals, while the video, which also features Erykah and her sister Nayrok Badu. Combining both nudity and art, the Badu sister appear tastefully naked in the video. Yet have any of you seen the movie, ‘Think Like a Man’? Welll, try thinking like a man right now. LOL!
The Flaming Lips and Heady Fwends also features collaborations with Bon Iver, Coldplay, My Morning Jacket, Ke$ha and more. A great album indeed.

The superstar Colombian singer has signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation for management, XXLMag.com has learned. The news definitely marks a coup for Roc Nation. With worldwide appeal, Shakira has sold more than 60 million albums and won 12 Billboard Latin Music Awards, eight Latin Grammy Awards and two Grammy Awards. With the signing to Roc Nation for management, Shakira joins the likes of Rihanna, Wale, Santigold and Melanie Fiona, who are all signed under Roc Nation’s management umbrella. Managed producers under Roc Nation include Jahlil Beats, No I.D. and S1. Signed Roc Nation artists of course include the company’s founder, Jay-Z, J. Cole, Jay Electronica, Rita Ora and Willow Smith, the daughter of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith. (XXL Mag)

On this day in hip-hop/r&b Aug 25, 2001, a beautiful r&b superstar was removed from earth and sent to the heavens above. Aaliyah was visiting The Bahamas, working on the “Rock The Boat” video and enjoying life as a beautiful r&b diva. Her music success was high at that point and rapidly accelerating. Unfortunately, this video would be the final one for her as she died in a fatal plane crash while leaving the Bahamas. In honor of Aaliyah, please cherish the moment and check out “Rock The Boat” . The Pied Pieper not singing for a while
What would we do without R. Kelly, the Pied Pieper himself. The multi-platinum recording artist underwent throat surgery the other day and has returned home. However, it’ll be a while before the self proclaimed King of R&B aka the R&B Thug, will grace the stage again.
The R&B star has been discharged from a Chicago hospital after undergoing emergency throat surgery. “He left the hospital last night and is recuperating at home in Chicago,” says publicist Allan Mayer. “Still no word on when he’ll be able to resume performing.” (E! Online)
The 44 year-old Kelly, whose real name is Robert Kelly, was in severe pain and was rushed to a Chicago hospital on Tuesday where an abscess on one of his tonsils was drained, according to a statement from spokesman Allan Mayer. (Reuters)
Lets keep Mr. Kelly in your prayers. We need another classic R. Kelly album.
